What is Digital Demesne?

According to Dictionary.com the definitions of digital and demesne are:

demesne (duh-main, -men)

  1. Law. Possession and use of one's own land.

  6. A realm; a domain.

Let's just say that Digital Demesne is my playground. I intend to have some interesting things on here over the next little while. I intend to show you some of my work, my labour of love. I would like to share some of my things, my thoughts, my hopes and my fears with you. Mostly this is just about me.

Who am I?

I am Jarrod Allen Major. I am 41 years old, I was born on December 14th 1968. I was a child of the seventies and my formative years were the 80's and 90's. I saw Star Wars during it's first run in theatres. I watched Battle of the Planets AKA G-Force (a bastardized version of Gatchaman) on TV. I fought with my brother and coped with my parents continual separation. I read lots of books and comics just like any other kid.

I am a Web/Software Developer and Graphic artist for hire.

I am a computer geek and spend a great deal of time working and playing with these infernal machines. Some days I want to put a sledge hammer through it, other days I am blown away at the power at my fingertips. I truly love the Internet and the vast quantity of knowledge that is a few keystrokes away. I cannot believe that I am fortunate enough to live in this digital age. These are very exciting times.

I fancy myself a digital artist. I can create graphics, illustrations, animations, movies, sounds and 3D artwork. I am a music enthusiast. I love most genres and actually play. When I have more time and a few more resources at my disposal I would like to compose... something. For now I experiment.
